We are excited to welcome a new producer to our Locally Grown market this week! Joy James of Vegan Delights crafts delicious vegan treats: mango upside down cake, carob cake, and pound cake, all sure to please your palate wether you are vegan or not. Try one of her creations this week!

Today is the Mango Melee and Tropical Fruit Festival, the annual celebration of the glorious bounty available on St. Croix during the summer months. I hope you go to enjoy the festivities at the St. George Village Botanical Gardens, and to meet and greet many of your VI Locally Grown producers who will be participating. Ridge to Reef Farm will be there with a cornucopia of fruit.

There’s a lovely spread this week of delicious things on the market. Queen’s Maubi is offering their Mango Twist, a sweet way to kick-off mango season on St. Croix.
A tall glass of mango juice, a freshly brewed cup of Sandra Farms coffee, a calabash bowl (Dans Ma Vi offers nest sets) of Nidulari’s coconut ginger granola, and a scramble with local eggs and Divine Delight Delectable’s Vegan burger are part of a complete Caribbean breakfast.
You’ll find a plethora of local vegetables, herbs, fruits, and flowers to round out every meal and snack and to fill your home with tropical flavors and colors.
